Devon and Cornwall NHS Trust – News for 2026

We have been informed from a reliable source that both Counties are merging into one, which makes sense, for example we have had Devon and Cornwall Police since 1967.

People often believe Devon has more of a cash flow for NHS / Local services, Cornwall certainly seems less able to fulfil the demand certainly as seen from my own personal experiences, the mental health system is a typical example.

The CMRHT – Home Treatment Team has an average, 700,000 people to over see care of in a crisis which would normally mean inpatient mental health beds, – there are no Beds, zero – none. – See more about this post next.

Changes are happening, is that good or will it make things worse? Personally on a mental health blog such as TamarMH.com I can see it being good and bad. – Time will tell, whats your opinion? How will this change affect you ?

Will this mean Livewell Southwest will cover across the border into Cornwall ? Who will manage the useless NHS 111, Option 2 – Professional’s line?
